The Early Years of Silvan Colani

One Month Old
Here I am, world! Unfortunately it's too far away to remember much!!!

One Year Old
I can walk! Probably the greatest achievement in my life (at the time, of course).

Two Years Old
I thought I could ski. I couldn't!

Three Years Old
I get my first speeding ticket! I have since stopped counting them, but I'm sure someone at the Transport Department does.

Nine Years Old
A promising musical career is cut short by philistine neighbours and repeated police visits.

Eleven Years Old
A promising sporting career does not get off the ground due to lack of sponsorship and poor equipment.

Fourteen Years Old
No milestones to report but let's have a drink anyway! (A motto I have kept faithful to ever since.)

Nineteen Years Old
Graduation ceremony. The diploma presumably was for 'best taste in choice of tie'!

I decide to leave Switzerland in the search of the Promised Land. Somehow I end up in Hong Kong and get stuck. In an important career move, I start working for SBC in Hong Kong. It was hoped it would 'straighten me up'!

1996
After three years at SBC Hong Kong I leave the firm (no, I was not fired) and join the Princely Service at LGT Bank in Liechtenstein .

1997
Hong Kong is handed over to China under the 'One Country, Two Systems' formula. I join the celebrations under the 'One Party, Two Hangovers' formula.

2000
In time for the dot com boom, the Silvan Colani website is successfully launched and receives over five million hits in the first hour (I wish). The idea of a Nasdaq listing falters faster than you can say "bubble!"

The rest, as they say, is history...
