- I can walk! Probably the greatest achievement in my life (at the time, of course).

- Two Years Old
- I thought I could ski. I couldn't!

- I get my first speeding ticket! I have since stopped counting them, but I'm sure someone at the Transport Department does.

- Nine Years Old
- A promising musical career is cut short by philistine neighbours and repeated police visits.

- Eleven Years Old
- A promising sporting career does not get off the ground due to lack of sponsorship and poor equipment.

- Fourteen Years Old
- No milestones to report but let's have a drink anyway! (A motto I have kept faithful to ever since.)

- Nineteen Years Old
- Graduation ceremony. The diploma presumably was for 'best taste in choice of tie'!

- I decide to leave Switzerland in the search of the Promised Land. Somehow I end up in Hong Kong and get stuck. In an important career move, I start working for SBC in Hong Kong. It was hoped it would 'straighten me up'!

- 1996
After three years at SBC Hong Kong I leave the firm (no, I was not fired) and join the Princely Service at LGT Bank in Liechtenstein .
- 1997
- Hong Kong is handed over to China under the 'One Country, Two Systems' formula. I join the celebrations under the 'One Party, Two Hangovers' formula.

- 2000
- In time for the dot com boom, the Silvan Colani website is successfully launched and receives over five million hits in the first hour (I wish). The idea of a Nasdaq listing falters faster than you can say "bubble!"
The rest, as they say, is history...
